PU Library organizes introductory talk


LAHORE: (Monday, February 24, 2020): Punjab University Library has organized its monthly book reading event in which introductory talks on two books were presented. The books of the February event were “Ekhlaq aur Falsafah-e-Ekhlaq” written by Maulana Muhammad Hifzur Rahman Seoharwi and “Homo Deus: A Brief History of Tomorrow” written by Yuval Noah Harari. The introductory talk on the book of the “Harari” was presented by Mr. Shahzeb Khan, Assistant Professor, PU Department of English Language and Literature. Presenting the main theme and style of the book, Mr. Shahzeb Khan stated that if we wanted to enjoy or critically examine the ideas of an author, we must first come out from the spheres of our personal dogmas. The talk on the second book was presented by Mr. Muhammad Akram Soomro, Assistant Professor, PU Institute of Communication Studies. Discussing the theme of the book, he stated that an ethically rich society can be constructed when the majority of the society have a mission to not only improve their ethics but also ambitious to develop systems where adherence to ethical standard is inevitable. Chief Librarian Dr. Muhammad Haroon Usmani thanked the speakers and the audience for their heavy participation, appreciation and support for this book club program.
