PU marks world Statistics Day


LAHORE: (Tuesday, October 20, 2020): Punjab University College of Statistics and Actuarial Sciences has marked third World Statistics Day on Tuesday at its premises with the theme "Connecting the World with Data We can Trust". Pro-Vice-Chancellor Dr. Muhammad Saleem Mazhar, Dean Faculty of Sciences Dr. Muhammad Sharif, President Academic Staff Association Prof. Dr. Mumtaz Anwar, Secretary ASA Javed Sami, CSAS Principal Prof Dr Sohail Chand, faculty members and students participated in the event. A panel discussion was arranged by the college in which renowned statisticians from industry and academia gave their input regarding the theme of the discussion. Prof Dr. Sohail Chand highlighted the significance of the data in changing our lives. He said that there was a need for more investment in the fields of data and statistics to cope with the national as well as international challenges through which today's world could make a progress scientifically.
