World Mental Health Day Celebration by COVID-19 Mental Health Team of Institute of Applied Psychology
Webinar Series: 6th - 9th October 2020

Institute of Applied Psychology, University of the Punjab, Lahore is conducting a series of webinars to celebrate the world mental health day. Theme of the webinar series is “Sharing Advent of New Spectrum of Positivity and Kindness”. With reference to these series, first session was conducted on Tuesday, 6th October, 2020.  Session was chaired Dr. Fatima Kamran, Assistant Professor Institute of Applied Psychology. Dr. Fatima being the first speaker discussed about Maximizing Quality of Life during Covid. She emphasized that focusing on the meaning in life and staying away from toxic people along with toxic virus is essential to maximize quality of life. Ms Zainab Javaid’s topic for the webinar was “Learn to Live a Happy and Positive Life Once Again” and she shared some practical tips and coping strategies that can help towards sustaining positive and happy life amidst difficulties. Last speaker of the session was Ms. Rakia Ashraf and her topic was “Adolescent Health Issues and their Management”. Focus of her talk was on different physical, emotional and psycho-social issues faced by adolescents and shared her insight on how to effectively manage these concerns. An evening session was chaired by Dr Rafia Rafique, Director IAP and the guest speaker was renowned psychiatrist Dr. Usman Amin. Dr. Usman talked about the psychological repercussions of death penalty. Both sessions were live streamed through IAP Facebook and attended by hundreds of participants and professionals from all around the world.
