New political map a message to the world: VC


LAHORE: (Wednesday, August 5, 2020): Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Niaz Ahmad has stated that the nation appreciates Prime Minister Imran Khan for launching a new political map of Pakistan through which a strong message has been given to the world that Kashmir is a part of Pakistan and India could not usurp the rights of Kashmiri people. He was addressing a rally organized by Punjab University Academic Staff Association outside VC office here on Wednesday. Pro Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Saleem Mazhar, PUASA President Prof Dr Mumtaz Anwar Chaudhry, Secretary Javed Sami, a large number of faculty members, officers and employees participated in the rally.

The rally was taken out from the Undergraduate block which concluded outside the VC office. Addressing the rally, Prof Niaz Ahmad regretted the pathetic role and criminal silence of the international community for not taking serious notice of Indian atrocities in occupied Kashmir. He said that the United Nations must take notice of war crimes being committed by India. He said that the illegal change in status of Kashmir could not suppress the freedom movement of Kashmiris. “Today’s biggest question is where are the organizations of human rights,” the VC added. He said that the Pakistan government had the presented Kashmir issue to the world in the present scenario in an excellent manner. He said that Pakistani nation strongly condemned Indian hooliganism and state terrorism in occupied Kashmir. Prof Dr Saleem Mazhar said that the Kashmir issue was like a black dot on the forehead of humanity. He said that Kashmir and Palestine issues were not the issues of any religion or region but these were the issues of humanity. He said that Kashmir was the unfinished agenda of the division of subcontinent. He said that international community made noise over cutting of trees but it was astonished that it was silent over of serious violations of human rights by India in occupied Kashmir. He said that around 8 million people were living their lives worse than prisoners in the world’s largest jail but it was deplorable that the international community was not taking any serious action. PUASA President Prof Dr Mumtaz Anwar Chaudhry said that Kashmir issue must be solved as per the desire of the Kashmiris and resolutions of the United Nations. He said that the Kashmir issue was the issue of conscience of humanity. He said that it was the duty of mankind to help Kashmir who wanted freedom from India. He said that Kashmiris and Palestinians were facing atrocities of usurpers and we must unite ourselves to provide them relief and work for their liberty. Earlier, the Academic Staff Association organized a seminar and passed a unanimous resolution which condemned India over serious violations of human rights in Kashmir and demanded the United Nations to implement their resolutions regarding the Kashmir issue.
