PU IAGS organizes rescue course


LAHORE: (Monday, December 2, 2019): Punjab University Institute of Agricultural Sciences (IAGS) in collaboration with Rescue 1122 organized basic life support course for students. A large number of students from different classes participated in the course. On the first day of training, the students were made familiar with basic life saving techniques that could be used in case of emergency. Afterwards, the students were trained practically for how to respond in case of breathing problems as well as cardiac emergencies. The students were taught the technique of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and different ways of choking in adults and infants and how to cope with it. A pre-test was also conducted by the rescue team. On the second day, the students were taught about different types of fires and the methods to extinguish those. Practical demonstration of fire extinguishers was arranged to cope with fire incidents. IAGS Director Prof. Dr. Muhammad Saleem Haider threw light on the importance of the course and advised the students to play their role for the first aid in case of emergencies.
